Spinet Piano

This week my spinet piano from Master's Miniatures arrived from England --isn't it beautiful?  I 'special ordered' it to be made 'mirror-reversed' so that the keyboard would face toward the front of the house.

It perfectly blends in with the other furnishings!  Thanks to Andy for helping me pick it out.  All I need now is to find a suitable chair or bench for it.  Actually, I have a House of Miniatures chair kit left over from my Entrance Hall that I might use.

I'm toying with the idea of  a classical painting on the underside of the spinet lid, something with a musical theme, perhaps?

I also received a pair of these lovely crystal-spangled candelabras, this one sitting on top of one of the aforementioned House of Miniatures side tables I made.  I'm still waiting for the Susan Bembridge fabric, and suspect it will arrive any day now!  I am so anxious to re-cover the chairs in it...

Here's a little violin I picked up at the local dollhouse shop, Little Enchantments.  I also have my eye on a Bespaq harp, but it will have to wait for now as we had a rather large and unexpected car repair bill to deal with last week  :(   Don't you just hate it when RL problems interfere with your miniature projects?  Oh, well, whatevs...I don't have my harp but I do have a brand-new alternator!

Just a few more little details left here and there on the Music Room and I can move on to the next room: the Library.  Have a great week, everyone!

It is such a GORGEOUS room. I love your new spinet piano! I think it would be wonderful if you had a painting on the inside of the lid. I think it is going to be hard to find just the right image though. Take your time. :-) The new violin looks great on the chair.

Oooh on to the library next, I am really looking forward to that.

My sympathies with your car repair bill!!!! I had a BIG HUGE WHOPPER one myself this week. I didn't have a car for 6 days! Which is why your package is late. It should be there on Monday or Tuesday. ;-)

I have a Bespaq Harp sitting in a drawer waiting for a new owner. Say the word and we can play "lets make a deal". Payment plan can be arranged.

You can see a glimpse of it in this photo.

Hi John,

Sorry I have been a little quiet lately, but you know how things get here sometimes, I've been a tad swamped.
Your room is coming together so beautifully and I just love your little spinet piano, it's the perfect size. You really are down to the fine detail now, with your crystal candelabras and violin. It all looks wonderful. Well done!!

Yes, Yes YES to a painted underside of the lid! I have seen some splendid ones in RL and they always add that extra bit of enchantment!
I LOVE the candelabra!!! And I'm sorry to hear you had to delay your harp.... but perhaps it will all work out for the best? This room is just AWESOME... hard to imagine it getting better.... but there is that fabric on its way....!!! Did I mention that I want to move into this room...? It's just GORGEOUS!!!!

Hi John,
Love the spinet piano too, AND the violin AND the candelabra's, and and and...

Hey John
The Spinet is perfect and I love the idea of the picture underneath. This room is a complete delight! I want it!! The finishing touch will be your re-covered chairs. What a fantastic touch that will be.
Incidentally I love the tiny handles at the bottom of the windo sash.
Have a great week Buddy

Hi, Linda!

I hear you're in the process of launching a new line of hand-carved accessories (and that my beautiful foot-warmer was a prototype, which makes it all the more special to me). Much, much luck to you, my dear!

Hello, Simon,

Glad you like the room and that the window pulls did not escape your notice! For some reason, when Glen saw them he wanted to have me committed --he thinks I've gone insane, apparently. Thanks for understanding.

Ciao, Elvira!

Grazie mille per i complimenti belle! Quindi sono contento che ti piace gli strumenti musicali.

Big hugs to you all,
John

Your spinet sits in it's space perfectly - isn't it a little work of art and the keys - I love the fact that the keys aren't white but almost a bone colour.

I can't wait to see now what you'll be up to in the Library!

Hi John, The room looks fabulous and your spinette fits in perfectly! I know you were thinking of painting teh spinet, I don't think it needs to be, but would look lovely if you did!

I must have missed your last post, I've not bee looking online so much lately! The fringe on the curtains works really well. The whole room looks stunning!!!

The crystal canelabras look just right. Liberace would be so proud!!

Hi John,
The room is wonderfull.
And a good idea to have your spinet mirror-made. A painting on the inside and maybe on the sides as well(?) would look very nice.

I love the music room. Delightful. A mural underneath the piano top is a great idea. Can't wait to see it.

Everything in the room is just so elegant. You have a great eye for details.

Hello John!
What can I possibly add that has not already been said........you have a real "Knack" for this style of Design. I agree with all the others in saying that this room is gorgeous! The matching fabric for the chairs will "ice the cake" and by all means the underside of the piano would look amazing with a painting.
Warm regard from Ray

Good morning John,

The room looks gorgeous! The spinet is wonderful, good choice to have it made mirror reversed. I think combining both room themes in your spinet is a great idea. I'm sure you will be able to find a painting which is fitting for the piece, or maybe even paint it yourself?

I look forward to seeing the new fabric on the chairs.
Have a lovely weekend! ~Josje~
